Government calls for evidence on unfair dismissal roles – Will you heed the call? And will they really listen anyway?

I’m always concerned when government decides that employment laws are to blame for a struggling economy. The Employment Dispute Resolution Regulations 2004 serve as warning of the mess a government can create with ill thought out, and badly drafted changes. Designed to reduce the number of employment claims going to tribunal, these Regulations had the opposite effect, and were repealed four years later. Continue reading

Secret hearings are unfair and unnecessary

The Government’s proposals to introduce secret hearings are a cynical self serving attempt to defeat legitimate claims and stifle the revelation of facts to which the public are entitled. The proposals are an affront to the principle of Justice which must not only be done but must be seen to be done. There appears to be a direct correlation between the uncovering of illegal or incompetent activity on the part of Government agents and the determination of the Government to keep that activity secret.

TFL trial blue lights on emergency response vehicles
